Last week I drew the card for Freyja. I took her to heart and focused on challenging myself to act with boldness and daring. Honestly though, I had already set myself up for a pretty full week in that regard because I simply had to follow through on commitments I’d already made.
I had to go hang out at the DMV and wait in lines for half a day in order to get my scooter (Piaggio BV 350) registered and take my motorcycle license test. Now it’s got plates and I am legal. Since it’s continued to snow up here and be windy as hell, however, I’ve yet to actually take it out other than a quick buzz up my hill to get it out of the game room and into the garage. Soon it’ll be springtime up here in VT!
I’ve also been getting ready to leave on the 21st for North Carolina, where I’ll be attending Sheepdog Response, a threat assessment and tactical response course. You can get more information on that at sheepdogresponse.com. I had to purchase a few pieces of gear that I didn’t have, including better ear protection, better eye protection, and a mouthguard. I also had to make sure I had all the legal ins and outs of flying with a weapon, 500+ rounds of ammo, plus extra magazines, etc. Yes I am a bit nervous, and yes I have been practicing. Nothing beats a case of butterflies better than repetition, repetition, repetition.
Everyone has their own definition of what being daring can mean to them. Be daring on your own scale. It’s daring to try a new hairstyle that requires a cut! Have fun with it!
This week I drew Sige. Enjoy!
“Take some quiet time alone to rest, meditate, and contemplate.”
Message from Sige: “Shhh, dearest one. Quiet your mind. Breathe and let go of words, worry, and plans. Go into that space of silence deep within you, that vortex of peace where the world doesn’t enter. Now is the time to retreat in silence and spend time alone. I’ll lovingly help you rejuvenate and recenter yourself. Don’t try to make any decisions now. Just allow your mind to be at rest. You’ll know soon enough when it’s time to take action. But for now, quiet your mind. Rest.”
Various Meanings of This Card: Go on a retreat * Listen more and talk less * Avoid loud noise and sounds * Meditate * Surrender mind chatter to heaven * Know that you’re more sensitive to noise now.
About Sige (pronounced Sig or Seej): The Gnostic goddess Sige is considered to be the great silence or void from which all creation sprang. Sige reminds us that words create duality, and that in silence, we find out true origin and self. Quiet is omnipresent power that gives birth to wisdom, just as the Gnostics hold that Sige is the mother of Sophia, the goddess of wisdom. Sigh teaches that our roots are in the silent void of the universe, and that it’s important for us to reconnect with silence regularly.
